Brenau, held by Folds (1-1) to three hits through five innings, got three in the sixth in cutting the Panthers' lead to 5-3. Morgan Smith drove in all three runs with a two-out home run to left.
In the seventh, the Tigers tied the game with back-to-back singles following the error. With the bases loaded, Smith cleared them with a double to put the Tigers up 8-5. The Panthers went in order in the bottom of the inning.
In the first game, Brenau built a 10-1 lead through three innings. The Tigers added a run in the fourth and the game ended after five because of the eight-run mercy rule. Newbern's RBI single in the first inning scored Beshel to account for the Panthers' only run.
