Softball: Panthers roll past Wesleyan
LaGrange pitching limited Wesleyan to just two hits in sweeping a doubleheader Friday at the LaGrange College Softball Complex. The Panthers (15-8) won the first game 9-0 and completed the sweep with a 13-0 second game win.
Danielle LaDuron pitched a complete-game 1-hitter in the first game. LaDuron walked one and struck out six. In the second game, Kristen Woodard and Amanda Stukel combined for another 1-hitter. Woodard allowed a hit, struck out four in four innings, while Stukel retired the side in the fifth inning to end the game.
The Panthers built an 8-0 lead in the first game after two innings. The Panthers finished the game with 12 hits. Katie Ison, Becca Abernathy, Shanna Brumbelow and Hannah Patterson each had two hits. Katie Hein hit her first home run of the season.
In the second game, the Panthers had did all of their scoring after three innings. They had 10 hits in the game, as Hein went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Laura Webber added a double in two at-bats.
The Panthers play at Emory next Friday.
