Panthers have 12 receive GSAC awards

Junior outfielder Katie Ison was named the 2010 GSAC Player of the Year. Ison led the GSAC and the team with a .449 batting average and 44 RBIs. Ison led the Panthers in 11 individual categories. She ranked in the top five in 10 individual GSAC categories.

Joining Ison on the GSAC All-Conference team was: junior pitcher Shanna Brumbelow, junior pitcher Kristen Woodard, senior infielder Valeree Williams, senior outfielder Holly Hazelwood and junior outfielder Katie Hein.

Brumbelow was 9-6 with a 2.52 earned run average this season. She led the team in wins and earned run average. Woodard was 8-7 with a 3.38 ERA and led the team with 93-1/3 innings pitched.

Williams led the team with five home runs and was second on the team and the GSAC with 35 RBIs. She batted .367 for the season. Hazelwood was third on the team with a .404 batting average and led the team with 23 stolen bases and 42 runs scored. Hein was second on the team with a .409 batting average and was a perfect 14-for-14 in stolen bases.

Kayla Folds was selected to the GSAC All-Freshman team. Folds batted .345 with 14 RBIs this season. She was 6-5 pitching with a 2.64 ERA and led the team with 56 strikeouts.

Brumbelow, Hein and Williams also earned GSAC All-Academic honors. Brittany Ellisor and Danielle LaDuron also earned GSAC All-Academic honors.
