Tennis: Men's and women's teams hand out annual team awards

The LaGrange College men's and women's tennis teams handed out year-end awards for the recently completed 2015-16 season.

Sophomore Mitchell Corley was selected as the men's Most Valuable Player. He was named to the USA South All-Conference second team this season. Corley played 13 matches at #1 singles and two at #2 singles for the Panthers. He had a 3-8 record at #1 and was 2-0 at #2.

Freshman John Mitchell Benton received the men's Coach's Award. Benton posted a 6-6 record at #3 singles. He tied for the team lead in singles match wins. 

Senior Morgan McDonald was named the women's Most Valuable Player for the second straight season. McDonald was 5-7 this past season playing at #1 singles. She finished her career with a 36-16 record, the most wins in the women's program's history.

Sophomore Ali Herring received the women's Coach's Award. Herring posted a team-best record of 12-3, including a 9-2 USA South conference record. She was 4-0 at #5 singles and 8-3 at #6 singles.
