Tennis: End of season team awards handed out

The LaGrange tennis teams handed out end of season awards at its recent banquet.

Senior Caroline Brashier was the women's Most Valuable Player and freshman Brett Piland was the men's MVP. Sophomore's Wade Fegley and Morgan McDonald received their respective team's Coaches Awards.

Brashier earned all-conference honors for the past three seasons. She had a 10-3 record at #1 singles this season. Brashier won 34 matches during her career with the Panthers, the most by a player in the program's history. In addition, she has earned conference All-Academic awards for three straight years.

Piland was named to the USA South All-Conference team. He played in all 14 regular season matches for the Panthers, playing 12 at #1 singles and and two others at #2 singles. He was 5-4 in USA South matches and 6-8 overall.

Fegley had a team-best record of 8-4, including 5-2 in USA South play. McDonald also led her team with an 11-3 overall record and a 9-2 mark in conference play.
