Men's Soccer: Errick Sturm's hat trick leads Panthers past Toccoa Falls

Sophomore Errick Sturm scored three goals as LaGrange blanked visiting Toccoa Falls 6-0 on Wednesday. It was the second straight for the Panthers, now 2-1. Toccoa Falls slipped to 1-2.

Sturm did all of his scoring in the first half as the Panthers ran up a 5-0 lead. He scored on all three shots he took and now has five goals in the last two games.

LC needed only two minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead. Sturm took a pass from Miguel Martinez and as the goalkeeper came out, flicked the ball over his head and into the net for his first goal.

Six minutes later, the Panthers added to their lead. Martinez fired a shot on the post and Brandon Burrell put the rebound into the back of the net to make 2-0.

Sturm scored the next two goals. He got his second goal off a pass from Matthew Fritts, then took a long through ball from Connor Liney and beat the goalkeeper to make it 4-0.

Qua Tucker closed out the first half scoring. Tucker cleaned up in front of the goal after David Flores had his shot go off the post. The Panthers had a 16-0 shot advantage in the half.

Daniel Provence closed out the scoring with the only goal of the second half. Provence headed in Levi Gehman's crossing pass for the 6-0 final.

The Panthers host Greensboro on Sept. 16 in a USA South game.
