Men's Soccer: Panthers' bid for USA South Tournament ends with loss to Methodist

LaGrange's bid to make the USA South Tournament ended with a 6-1 loss to Methodist on Wednesday at Panther Field.

The Panthers finished the season 5-11-1 and 2-7-1 in USA South play. The five wins were more than the past two seasons combined.

Methodist (7-7-1, 5-4 USA South) built a 4-0 halftime lead. The Panthers played the Monarchs on near even terms in the second half.

Errick Sturm got the Panthers on the board in the 77th minute when the Monarchs turned the ball over in front of the goal. The goal was Sturm's ninth of the season, the most by a Panther since Cameron Williams had 10 in 2009.

The match was the final one for seniors Mackens Marcelin and Brian Richardson.
