Men's Soccer: Panthers blank Toccoa Falls 4-0 to pick up first win of 2016

LaGrange got goals from four different players in blanking visiting Toccoa Falls 4-0 at Panther Field on Friday night.

The Panthers (1-2) controlled the game from the outset. The Eagles (0-5-1) had the first shot of the match, but did not get off another until the game was out of reach. The Panthers enjoyed a 27-4 shot advantage and 15-2 on shots on goal.

LC opened the scoring in the 17th minute. Miguel Martinez sent a through ball to Brandon Burrell, who beat Eagle goalkeeper Tyler Standridge for his second goal of the season. 

The Panthers upped the lead to 2-0 nine minutes later. Diego Torres headed in Brian Richardson's indirect kick for his first goal of the year.

With 10 minutes remaining in the first half, the Panthers padded their lead. Errick Sturm sent a cross to David Flores to make it 3-0. For Flores, it was his first goal also.

The Panthers needed less than two minutes to score in the second half. Jonathan Mann headed Martinez's corner kick into the goal for the 4-0 final score.

The Panthers host Berea on Saturday at 4 p.m.
