Men's Soccer: Panthers finish season with loss at Piedmont

DEMOREST, Ga. - Piedmont got two first half goals and went on to a 2-0 win over LaGrange on Wednesday. The loss ended the season for the Panthers (3-13, 0-8 USA South).

With the win, Piedmont (6-9-2, 1-5-2) clinched the final spot in the conference tournament beginning Saturday. The Lions will play at top-seeded Christopher Newport.

The Lions got both of their goals in a three-minute span of the first half. Sidney Smith opened the scoring in the 31st minute and Bradley Thomas added the second goal for a 2-0 lead. Justin Whitaker assisted on both goals.

The two teams combined for only 12 shots in the game. The Panthers had four shots, three of those on goal.

The game was the final one for seniors Harry Hinson, James Prince and Chandler Winner.
