Men's Soccer: Panthers fall to North Carolina Wesleyan 5-0

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - LaGrange fell 5-0 to North Carolina Wesleyan on Sunday in a USA South game. The Panthers are now 2-11 overall after their ninth straight loss and 0-6 in conference play.

Christian Boakye and Andri Bjarnason did all of the scoring for North Carolina Wesleyan. Boakye had the hat trick with three goals and also had an assist.

The Bishops scored twice in less than two minutes to take a 2-0 lead. Bjarnason opened the scoring in the 24th minute off a cross from Boakye, who then beat a defender to score unassisted for his first goal.

North Carolina Wesleyan put the game out of reach in the second half. Boakye scored just 29 seconds into the second half to make it 3-0. He added his third goal in the 63rd minute and Bjarnason closed out the scoring five minutes later.

The Panthers had 10 shots in the game, with two of those on goal. The Bishops had 18 shots, with 10 being on goal.

The Panthers play at Huntingdon on Wednesday, Oct. 17 in a non-conference game.
