Men's Soccer: Panthers lose in overtime to Covenant, 2-1

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant scored seven minutes into overtime to edge LaGrange 2-1 on Saturday. The Panthers (2-5) lost in overtime for the second straight day and now have lost three straight overall.

Matt Hudnut got the game-winner for the Scots (4-5) off an assist from Joel Friesen. Hudnut beat goalkeeper Donnie Palmer with a shot into the back corner of the net from eight yards out. Palmer had a season-high 10 saves in goal for the game.

Covenant outshot the Panthers 22-9 in the game. The Panthers had only three shots on goal in the game.

Trailing 1-0, the Panthers tied the game in the 76th minute. Kevin Folsom beat a defender and scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season.

The Panthers host Averett on Saturday and Greensboro on Sunday in USA South games.
