Men's Soccer: Late goals send Maryville past Panthers

MARYVILLE, Tenn. - Maryville scored a pair of late goals to down LaGrange 2-0 in the first USA South game for both teams. The Panthers (2-3) had their two-game win streak snapped. The Scotts improved to 2-1-1.

The game was scoreless for 79 minutes. Alex Waddell broke the scoreless tie for the Scots with 9:29 left in the game. Just 66 seconds later, David Lethco gave the Scots an insurance goal and a 2-0 lead.

The Panthers were outshot 23-7 in the game. They had three shots on goal in the game, all in the first half. Panther goalkeeper Donnie Palmer had nine saves in the game; seven in the second half.

The Panthers play at Sewanee on Friday, Sept. 21 and at Covenant on Saturday, Sept. 22.
