DEMOREST, Ga.- LaGrange ended its regular season with a 3-1 loss to Piedmont on Thursday at Walker Field. The Panthers are now 2-13, while the Lions evened their record at 7-7-2 with their second win of the season over the Panthers.
Piedmont got first half goals from Nick Weatherby and Stephen Sherfy to take a 2-0 lead at halftime. The Lions added a second half goal by Mason Flynn.
Aristote Pierre scored for the Panthers in the 78th minute. He put in the rebound of his own missed shot for the goal. The goal was Pierre's third of the season, tying him for the team lead.
The Lions had a 22-10 shot advantage in the game. Panther goalkeeper Tom Humberstone had seven saves in the game. Pierre had five of the Panthers' seven shots on goal.
The Panthers host the GSAC Men's and Women's Soccer Championship Tournament next Friday and Saturday. The Panther play either Piedmont or Maryville on Friday at 4 p.m.
