Covenant College took advantage of LaGrange College's first half mistakes and went on to a 4-0 win over the Panthers on Saturday at Panther Field in a GSAC match. The loss left the Panthers 0-3 in the conference and 2-10 overall, while the Scots are 2-0 in conference play and 5-6-2 overall.
The Panthers were outshot 24-7, including 11-1 on goal shots, in the match. Panther goalkeeper Donnie Palmer had seven saves in the match.
Covenant scored 10 minutes into the match. Johnny Frame scored unassisted after the Panthers turned the ball over inside the box. The Scots added goals by Tyler Morrison and Ian Meredith in the half to take a 3-0 lead.
The Panthers best scoring opportunity came in the second half in the 52nd minute. Jeremy Ham's shot in front of the goal was stopped by goalkeeper John Eger for the Scots.
The Scots closed out the scoring in the 73rd minute. David Huertas scored on a header off a corner kick by Garrison Dale.
The Panthers play at Huntingdon in a GSAC match Tuesday.
