Panthers even GSAC record with 2-0 blanking of Huntingdon

LaGrange College evened its GSAC record with a 2-0 blanking of Huntingdon College at Panther Field on Wednesday. The Panthers (6-5, 1-1 GSAC) avenged a 1-0 loss to the Hawks (2-9-1, 0-3 GSAC) on Sept. 29.

Jeremy Ham scored a first half goal and Drew Kellum added an insurance goal in the second half for the Panthers. It was the second goal of the year for Ham and third for Kellum.

Donnie Palmer made five saves in goal for the Panthers. It was the second shutout of the season for Palmer.

Ham's goal came in the 31st minute of the first half. He beat Huntingdon goalkeeper Kyle Gifford with an assist from Chandler Winner to put the Panthers up 1-0. Winner set up the goal with a through ball that went off Gifford's hands and Ham put the ball in the back of the net.

Kellum gave the Panthers a 2-0 lead 12 minutes into the second half. The Panthers, with Palmer making three second half saves, held off the Hawks the rest of the way.

The Panthers host Emmanuel in a non-conference game Friday at 7 p.m. It will be Senior Night for Cameron Williams and Daniel Yim.
