LaGrange spotted Atlanta Christian a 1-0 lead in the first half.
From there, the Panthers dominated the game, reeling off six
straight unanswered goals. The Panthers outshot the Chargers 24-4
in the game.
The Chargers scored 13 minutes into the first half. Stokes Laird's shot bounced off the hands of Panther goalkeeper Josh Murphy and Josh Goebel was there to put the rebound in the goal for the Chargers.
The Panthers needed only three minutes to answer the Chargers' goal. Mohamed Sesay followed up his own missed shot in front of the goal with one past Charger goalkeeper Brendon Dobbs to tie the game 1-1.
The Panthers took the lead on two straight penalty kick goals by
Williams. Williams put the Panthers up 2-1 with his first goal 29
minutes into the first half. He added his second nine minutes later
for a 3-1 lead at halftime.
Williams got his third straight goal 11 minutes into the second half to make it 4-1. Goals by Eric Gladden and Travis Riner in the final 10 minutes of the game gave the Panthers their 6-1 final score. Mark Torre had an assist on Riner's goal.
The Panthers host Piedmont in a GSAC on Tuesday. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
