Men's Basketball: Methodist ends Panthers' three-game winning streak

FAYTETTEVILLE, N.C. - Methodist ended LaGrange's three-game winnng streak with a 112-92 victory Sunday in a USA South game. 

Alex Bonner tied for game honors with Methodist's Davion Ayabarreno with 27 points. Jamison McCray and Julian Cameron each had 14 points, while Travis Thompson had 12.

Methodist (13-3, 8-1 USA South) raced to a 60-28 halftime lead. The Panthers (8-7, 4-4 USA South) got going in the second half, scoring 64 points. It was the most points in a half since scoring 71 in the second half against Greensboro in the semifinals of the USA South Tournament on Feb. 28, 2014.

The Panthers will have three games in Mariotti Gym next week. They face Piedmont on Wednesday and Covenant on Friday in USA South games. On Saturday, LC takes on future USA South foe Brevard.
