ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The LaGrange golf team finished third at the USA South Championship that concluded Sunday at the Benevenue Country Club.
The Panthers shot a final round team score of 303 to edge Greensboro by one stroke, while Piedmont was fourth another seven shots back. Top-ranked Methodist won the tournament, with Huntingdon second.
Logan Lanier earned a spot on the All-Tournament team with a 223 total. Lanier tied for the second lowest round Sunday with a 1-under par 71. He had four birdies and three bogeys on the day.
Eric Havixbeck and Osborn Theam each had rounds of 77. Havixbeck had a tournament total of 234 to tie for 13th. Theam was three shots back of Havixbeck at 237, tying for 17th. Anthony Scolapio had a final round 78 for a 239 total, while Alex Ball came in with a 79, to finish with a 245 tota.
