ROME, Ga. - Anthony Scolapio had a career-best finish as the LaGrange golf team took second at the Chick-fil-A Invitational played at the Stonebridge Golf Club.
The Panthers shot a final round 289, their best round of the fall, for a 872 total. Tournament host Berry won the tournament with Dalton State following the Panthers in third.
"I thought we played pretty good against another strong field," Coach Lee Richter said. "Berry has some experienced players and they were playing on their home course.
"Anthony had a big tournament for us and I thought our freshman Jake Haggerty played well."
Scolapio shot a final round 1-under par 71 to finish second with a 214 total. Logan Lanier had the Panthers' low score of the round with a 70 to tie for third at 215 and joined Scolapio on the All-Tournament team.
Osborne Theam (73), Eric Havixbeck (75), and Haggerty (79) rounded out the Panthers' final round scoring.
"We had a good fall with two second place finishes and now we'll get ready for the spring," Richter said. "Logan played really well and he'll head into the spring ranked fifth in Division III by Golfstat."
