Golf: Lanier records third straight top 10 finish as Panthers finish 11th at Golfweek Invitational

DESTIN, Fla. - Junior Logan Lanier had his third straight top 10 finish as the LaGrange golf team was 11th at the Golfweek Invitational that ended Tuesday.

Lanier had an even-par 71 on The Raven Club course and had a tournament total of two-over par 215. He tied for eighth in the individual standings. 

"There were 18 teams down there, 15 of which were in the top 25 in the country." Coach Lee Richter said. "Just like almost all other events it was like a small national championship."

Osborn Theam posted a final round 72 for a 221 tournament total. Following Lanier and Theam were: Anthony Scolapio (228), Jake Nelson (230), and Alex Ball (239).

The Panthers wind up the Fall portion of their 2015-16 season at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational hosted by Berry College at the Stonebridge Country Club in Rome, Ga. The tournament runs Oct. 19-20.
