Golf: Panthers ranked second in preseason Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll

The LaGrange golf team is ranked No. 2 in the preseason edition of the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. The Panthers, the 2015 NCAA Division III runner-up, received one first-place vote. It is the highest preseason national ranking for a LaGrange College athletic team.

The Panthers were one of three USA South teams ranked in the poll. Defending national champion Methodist is ranked No. 1 and Huntingdon is tied for 22nd. Ferrum received votes for the poll. The Panthers are the two-time defending conference champion.

The Panthers return junior All-Americans Logan Lanier and Osborn Theam for the 2015-16 season. They open the fall portion of the schedule Sept. 28-29 at the Gordin Classic in Columbus, Ohio. The Gordin is an invitation only tournament to the top 11 finishers from the NCAA Division III tournamnet. This is the second year in a row for the Panthers to play in the tournament.
