Golf: Panthers finish tied for third at Emory Spring Invitational

ADAIRSVILLE, Ga.- The LaGrange golf team finished tied for third at the Emory Spring Invitational, played at the Barnsley Gardens Resort. 

The Panthers had a final round score of 299 on Tuesday for a 606 total. The 299 was one shot behind tournament winner Methodist for the low team score of the day. Berry finished second, followed by the Panthers and Guilford, then Oglethorpe to round out the top five.

Sophomore Osborn Theam shot a team best 73 in the second round. He finished with a 149 total to tie for 11th. Senior Cory Howard was one shot back of Theam after his second straight 75 to tie for 13th at 150.

Logan Lanier had a final round 74 to move up 17 spots in the standings to tie for 21st, finishing with a 154 total. Freshman Eric Havixbeck shot a 77 for a 153 total and Anthony Scolapio had an 80 for a 165 total.

The Panthers play in the USA South Tournament on April 17-19 at the Benvenue Country Club in Rocky Mount, N.C. The Panthers are the defending champions in the tournament.
