Golf: Panthers fourth after second round of Golfweek Division III Fall Preview

SANDESTIN, Fla. - The LaGrange golf team is fourth after the second round of the Golfweek Division III Fall Preview being played on par-71 The Raven Golf Course. 

The Panthers had a team score of 298 for a two-day total of 584. Texas-Tyler leads the tournament by one shot over Methodist. The Panthers are just one shot back of third place Illinois Wesleyan.

Senior Cory Howard had an up and down round, finishing at 1-over par 72. He had a team-best six birdies on the day. Howard is in fourth place in the individual standings with a 140 total, just two shots back of Texas-Tyler's George Toone and Methodist's Mason Stutler.

Sophomore Osborne Theam tied Howard for the team's low round with his own 72 and is tied for 13th with a 146 total. One shot ahead of Theam is fellow sophomore Logan Lanier. Lanier is tied for ninth after a round of 73 and has a tournament total of 145.

Freshman Jake Nelson (81) and sophomore Anthony Scolapio (82) rounded out the scoring for the Panthers.

The three-day tournament concludes Tuesday. This is the final fall tournament for the Panthers.
