Golf: Panthers finish ninth at Gordin Classic

COLUMBUS, Ga. - LaGrange finished ninth at the Gordin Classic hosted by Ohio Northern at the Columbus Country Club.

The Panthers had a final round score Tuesday of 308 for a tournament total of 909. Guilford won the tournament, followed by Rhodes and top-ranked Oglethorpe.

Senior Cory Howard led the Panthers on Tuesday with an even-par 72. Howard had a tournament total of 219, tying for eighth place in the individual standings.

Logan Lanier tied for 14th with a 223 total. He was followed by Osborn Theam (229), Anthony Scolapio (238), and Eric Havixbeck (254).

The Panthers play in the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Fall Invitational on Oct. 6-7. They are the defending champions in the tournament and Osborn Theam is the defending individual champion.
