Golf: Panthers sixth after first round of O'Briant-Jensen Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The LaGrange golf team is in sixth place after the first round of the O'Briant-Jensen Invitational hosted by Guilford College at the Sedgefield Dye Course.

The Panthers had a team score of 305 and trail first round leader Greensboro by 12 strokes. Hampden-Sydney is second, followed by Methodist, Averett, Guilford and the Panthers.

Freshman Anthony Scolapio is tied for 14th in the individual standings after a round of 74. Osborn Theam was next for the Panthers with a 75. Cory Howard and Logan Lanier each shot 78. Alex Ball shot an 84 to round out the scoring.

The tournament concludes Tuesday. This is the final Fall event for the Panthers. They will open the Spring portion of the schedule March 1-2 at the Callaway Gardens Collegiate Invitational.
