Golf: Panthers finish fourth at USA South Tournament

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The LaGrange golf team finished fourth at the USA South Tournament. The Panthers shot a final round 310 over the Benvenue Country Club course.

Top-seeded Methodist won the tournament, shooting a final round 285 to finish ahead of Christopher Newport, Greensboro and the Panthers.

Sophomore Cory Howard and freshman James Liang finished second and third in the individual standings and earned spots on the All-Tournament team.

Howard shot a final round of 75 for a 219 tournament total, two shot back of Averett's Brandon Grogan. Liang also had a final round 75 for 220 total.

David Hensley improved his score for the third straight day, shooting a 76. Taylor Wynn shot an 84 and Alex Ball had an 88 to round out the third round scoring for the Panthers.
