Golf: Panthers finish eighth at rain-shortened Rhodes tournament.

TUNICA, Miss. - LaGrange's first tournament of the fall was cut short by rain as the Panthers finished eighth at the Rhodes College Fall Classic. The tournament was scheduled for two rounds over the Tunica National golf course.

The Panthers had a team total of 301. They were just three shots back of Centre and Texas-Dallas, who tied for fifth.  Southwestern won the tournament with a round of 281.

Sophomore Cory Howard and freshman James Liang led the Panthers. Both golfers tied for fifth in the individual standings with 1-under par rounds of 71.

Junior Freddie Wolford followed Howard and Liang with a 79. Freshmen Jake Andrews and Kenny Sujieanto had rounds of 80 and 86 respectively.

The Panthers play in the Royal Lakes Fall Invitational on Oct. 8-9 at the Royal Lakes Golf Club in Flowery Branch, Fla.
