Golf: Rough second round knocks Panthers out of NCAA tournament

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The LaGrange golf team saw its 2011-12 season end with a rough second round Wednesday at the NCAA Division III Championships. The Panthers had a team score of 318 for the day finishing tied for 21st and missing the cut for the final two rounds.

Playing on the challenging El Campeon course, the Panthers had only two players have rounds under 80. Victor Choi had the low round of 78, followed by Hunter Keener with a 79. Senior Hudson Keener, playing his final collegiate round, had an 80, Cory Howard an 81 and Freddie Wolford an 82.

The Panthers had a successful season. They won the Great South Athletic Conference tournament, the Reeder Cup tournament and finished in the top 10 in four other tournaments.
