Golf: Panthers slip in standings after second round at Jekyll Island

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - The LaGrange golf team is 12th after the second round of the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational. The Panthers shot a team score of 304 and have a two-day total of 598 heading into Sunday's final round.

Hudson Keener shot his second straight round of 1-over par 73 to lead the Panthers. Keener is currently tied for 20th in the individual standings.

Cory Howard followed Hudson with a 75 after a first round 79. Freddie Wolford shot a 77, Victor Choi a 79 and Hunter Keener an 80 to round out the second round scoring for the Panthers.

Methodist continues to lead the tournament over host Oglethorpe. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Emory and Coastal Georgia round out the top five in the 30-team field. The Panthers are just seven shots back of seventh place Illinois Wesleyan.
