Golf: Hudson Keener earns All-American honors at NCAA Division III Golf Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senior Hudson Keener finished third at the NCAA Division III Golf Championships that concluded Friday. Keener shot a final round 4-under par 68 over the Grandover Resort's East Course.

Keener was five shots back of the individual champion, Chris Morris of Centre, and one behind defending champion Tain Lee of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. He had a tournament total of 9-under par 279.

Keener and Lee were playing against each other for the second straight day. Keener had a bogey free round with four birdies. Lee birdied the 18th hole to take second place.

The third place finish earned Keener first team PING All-American honors for the second straight season, the first LaGrange golfer to do so since joining the NCAA. He tied Michael Lemo for the highest individual finish at the Division III national championships.

Keener had a stellar season. In addition to the All-American honor, he was selected to the PING Southeast All-Region team and was the Great South Athletic Conference Player of the Year. He won the GSAC and Reeder Cup individual championships.
