Golf: Keener slips to tie for fourth at NCAA Division III Golf Championships
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Hudson Keener slipped to a tie for fourth in the individual standings at the NCAA Division III Golf Championships on Thursday.
Keener had an even par 72 on the East Course of the Grandover Resort. He had a round that included three birdies and bogeys each. Keener has a three-day total of 5-under par 211. He is tied with Ryan Kiel of Texas Lutheran, who birdied the final hole to catch Keener.
Chris Morris of Centre has led all three rounds of the tournament and has a five-shot lead over defending champion Tain Lee of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Morris has a three day total of 203. Jeremy Sanders of Redlands is third at 7-under for the tournament.
The tournament concludes Friday. Keener will be playing in a threesome that includes Lee for the second straight day. Trey Bridwill of Maryville is the third member of the group.
