Golf: Panthers third after first day of GSAC championship tournament

CLARKESVILLE, Ga. - LaGrange finished the first round of the GSAC Men's Championship Tournament in third place Monday. The tournament is being held at The Orchard Golf and Country Club and concludes Tuesday.

The Panthers had a team score of 305, eight shots behind first round leader Maryville and three shots behind second place Huntingdon.

Hudson Keener led the Panthers and the tournament with a two-under par 70. Keener leads Maryville's J.T. Randolph by two shots heading to the final round.

Hunter Keener followed his brother with a three-over 75 and is tied for sixth in the individual standings. Freddie Wolford (79), Taylor Wynn (81) and Bjarki Juliusson (83) rounded out the scoring for the Panthers.
