Golf: Panthers capture Reeder Cup championship
LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - LaGrange won its first tournament of the spring, taking the Reeder Cup championship Tuesday at the Lookout Mountain Golf and Country Club. The Panthers won by four shots over Berry with a tournament total of 625.
Hudson Keener led the Panthers by winning the individual championship. Keener had a tournament total of 6-over par 146 over the par 70 mountain top course. He had rounds of 72 and 74, each being the low round of the day. He won the title by six shots over Alex Irvin of Berry and Bryn Powers of West Georgia.
Hunter Keener and Brian Moore followed with tournament totals of 160 each to tie for 14th in the individual standings. Bjarkl Juliusson finished with a 164 total and Freddie Wolford at 166 to round out the scoring for the Panthers.
The Panthers beat seventh-ranked Huntingdon, which finished sixth, by 23 shots in the tournament. Rhodes (636) was third behind Berry, followed by first round leader West Georgia (638) and tournament host Covenant (647) to round out the top five.
The Panthers close out their spring schedule at the Emory Invitational on April 11-12.
