Panthers move up six spots after second round at Division III championships

HERSHEY, Pa. - The LaGrange College golf team moved up six spots with a strong second round Tuesday at the NCAA Division III Golf Championships. The Panthers shot a team score of 301 and are 16th in the team standings.

Top-ranked Methodist leads second ranked Huntingdon by two shots in the team standings. Guilford is third and first round leader Skidmore is fourth.

Hunter Keener bounced back from a first round 81 with a 2-over par 74 over the par 72 Hershey Links course. Keener was even through nine holes. He had a double-bogey at 17 but recovered with a birdie on 18.

Hudson Keener shot a 3-over par 75 to follow his brother. Keener is tied for 16th in the individual standings. Adam Garrett and Bo Tiller each had 4-over par rounds of 76. Garrett made the biggest turnaround for the Panthers, improving 11 shots to par after a first round 86. Brian Moore rounded out the Panthers' scoring with a 79.

The Panthers made the 23 team cut for the fourth straight year. The Panthers are shooting for their best finish yet at the championship. Last year, the Panthers finished 18th for their best finish yet.
