The LaGrange College football coaching staff wrapped up its summer camp schedule with a satellite camp in Valdosta, Ga. on Thursday. The staff hosted a prospect camp at LaGrange College on June 8, then had satellite camps in addition to Valdosta in the Georgia cities of Columbus, Darien, Douglasville, Johns Creek, and Loganville. The camps were attended by 763 rising sophomore to rising senior high school players. The Darien camp at McIntosh County Academy was covered by WJCL of Savannah. WATCH REPORT HERE
"I could not be more thrilled on the outcome of our two weeks of summer camps!" Head Coach Matt Mumme said. "Our staff worked hard at getting the word out and that success showed up for sure. The 763 who attended is a tremendous number for us and really made the LaGrange College Football program much more visible."
The Panthers start the 2016 season Sept. 3 in Birmingham, Ala. against Birmingham-Southern in what has become the traditonal opener. This marks the ninth straight year the two teams have opened the season against each other. The Panthers will host Berry in their home opener at Callaway Stadium on Sept. 10.
