Football: McIntyre named USA South Special Teams Player of the Week

Sophomore defensive end Justin McIntyre has been named the USA South Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 29.

McIntyre blocked a punt which led to the Panthers' first touchdown of the game in a 35-21 win over Greensboro in the conference opener. The blocked punt was the first for the Panthers since the final game of the 2011 season. On defense, he totaled six tackles, intercepted a pass and forced a fumble. For the season, McIntyre leads the defensive linemen with 14 total tackles.
