Football: Players of the Week for Birmingham-Southern game announced
Head football coach Todd Mooney announced the varsity Players of the Week for the Birmingham-Southern game.
Senior left guard William Youmans is the Offensive Player of the Week. Youmans graded 88 for the game and had nine knockdown blocks.
Senior linebacker Craig Ryan is the Defensive Player of the Week. He had a career-high eight tackles, tying for the team-high for the game. Ryan's total included six solo stops and one tackle for a loss. He also had a pass break up and a quarterback hurry.
Freshman defensive back Scott Chewning was the Special Teams Player of the Week. Chewning had one tackle in his first collegiate game, helping the Panthers limit Birmingham-Southern to 1.7 yards per punt return.
Freshman wide receiver Eli Blackmon and freshman defensive back Colton Slaughter were the Scout Team Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week.
