Baseball: Panthers' season-opening series moved to Sewanee

The LaGrange baseball team's season-opening series this weekend with Sewanee has been moved due to wet grounds at Cleaveland Field in Williamson Stadium.

The three-game series will now be played at Sewanee. The teams play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at noon EST (11 a.m. CST) and conclude the series with a game Sunday starting at 1 p.m. (12 p.m. CST).

The Panthers are starting their third season under coach David Kelton. The Panthers were 12-15 in the USA South and 13-24 overall.

The Panthers' 55-man roster, includes 28 returners. They have 27 newcomers, that includes 11 transfers.

Included in the returners, are junior first baseman Cain Sauls (.377 BA, 1 HR, 29 RBIs), last season's leading hitter, and senior pitcher Eric Morell (5-5, 3.86 ERA), who threw a no-hitter. Junior designated hitter/first baseman Casey Bell batted .313 and had 24 RBIs.
