Panthers' season ends with loss to Salisbury at NCAA regional

The game was the last for seniors Dale Feldman, Eric Heath and Amauri Smith. Heath and Smith each had two hits each and accounted for the Panthers' lone run.

Neal Smith (5-4) took the loss for the Panthers. Smith pitched 3-2/3 innings, allowing five earned runs on six hits. He allowed a three-run home run in the first inning and a two-run shot in the fourth.

James Connell gave up two runs in 3-2/3 innings in relief of Smith. Taylor Smith got the final two outs in the eighth inning. Jake Adcock allowed four unearned runs in the ninth. Heath got the final out in the ninth inning.

Kyle Judson (6-1) allowed only five hits in going the distance for the Sea Gulls (29-12). Judson walked one and struck out five.

The Panthers avoided the shutout in the ninth inning. Amauri Smith led off the inning with his second hit of the game. He moved up to second on a wild pitch and scored on Heath's single to center.
